The VLF & Coastal Edge Surf Shop is proud to announce the 8th Annual Student Art Show on the Beach. The theme this year and every year is surfing and the beach. It will be located at the First Street Jetty in the RVCA Pavilion during Memorial Day Weekend 2012 (5/26-28). It will be held in conjunction with the Steel Pier Classic & Surf Art Expo. Coastal Edge, Vans and RVCA are the presenting sponsors this year- so expect BIG things. This art show is open to HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS only. The student art show on the beach gives students a platform to sell their artwork and become real working artists. But, it has some perks, too! We will be awarding prizes:

First Place: $1,000 bond and a Seasoned Surfboard
Second Place: Apple iPad
Third Place: Beach Cruiser
Fourth Place: Skateboard
Fifth Place: Coastal Edge Gift Certificate
*All other places receive honorable mentions

All prizes will be given after the Student Fashion Show on Sunday Afternoon or at the SPC Award Ceremony on Monday Afternoon. The times and locations will be announced.

"Vans' Custom Culture Art Show presented by Coastal Edge."

Virginia Beach High Schools are invited to participate in Vans' Custom Culture Art Show presented by Coastal Edge. We have two/three pairs of blank Vans for your art class to design. Please design your Vans with this theme in mind, "What does Vans mean to you? Where do they take you in life?" We are asking each class to take their pair of shoes depicting the surf and skate lifestyle by Van's.  Representatives from Vans will judge each pair of shoes and decide which pair of shoes depicts the surf or skate lifestyle presented by Van's.  Coastal Edge will present the winners of this art show a trophy plus each student of the winning class will receive a $50 gift certificate to Coastal Edge. 
Each pair of shoes will also be showcased across the Coastal Edge chain throughout the summer season.

Please Contact Morgan Knight at mfknight@vbschools.com to get your Vans Custom Culture shoes for your school.
You have until May 5th to commit or participating high schools will design the rest of the shoes.
